Realities replicate the agricultural fields in the wishful thinking of the farmers and the cracked fields and growing deserts in artist Kuldip Karegaonkar’s Maati, a farmer and a sensitive artist from rural Maharashtra in search of his roots. Karegaonkar protects the invisible umbilical cords of emotions and belongingness as the traditional Indian farmer in his prayer and captures the same in various mediums, showcased in a scintillating display of works. “Kuldip Karegaonkar harks back to the inaudible voices of the earth, sprouting pangs of the seeds, the happy dance of the plants, the greenish glee of the shoots, the brownish protective - ness of the soil, the pinkish innards of the mud, the gurgling music of the water bodies and the narrow pathways that reverberate the caring notes of the parental footsteps.”
